Just another day in the Outlands of World of Warcraft
I played Everquest, a popular "MMO" (massively multiplayer online game) from a few months after its release, around July of 1999, till January of 2005. At that point it just was starting to seem like an endless grind for my 67 enchanter (mirque) and my wife and I decided to switch to Everquest 2.
EQ2 had problems. For one thing, it ran excruciatingly slowly on what was a reasonably powerful machine. My PC was 3 years old, but had been a top of the line alienware machine, and I had upgraded it a year or so earlier. I upgraded it again to 1gb of memory and EQ2 ran less like a slideshow (most of the time).
So as a lark my wife bought us both copies of World of Warcraft. Just to tide us over till my new machine that I had ordered showed up and I could play EQ2 at a reasonable framerate.
The rest, as they say, is history... WoW history.
I've been play World of Warcraft since about a month after it's release, around January 2005. It's a truly amazing and endless entertaining game. The artwork is extraordinary. I put together a few screenshots of the journey my hunter "Seekyr" took to the Outlands when he was old enough (level 58) to enjoy this new land.
